The
word Biology elicits different
images from different people. To some it suggests a research scientist
in a white lab coat, while to others it connotes naturalists working
to protect endangered species. No matter where you fit into the
variety of interest areas which together make up the broad field
we call Biology, the Methodist University faculty is ready to
help you prepare for your career. Our faculty members are knowledgeable
and approachable.
Among our alumni are surgeons, college professors, medical
technologists, high school teachers, laboratory research
scientists, veterinarians, physical therapists, public health
workers, physician assistants and a variety of other kinds
of biologists. Several have established their own businesses
pursuing interests which they began to develop as students.
We think our curriculum, with its combination of a sound
basic foundation and the specialization offered by our four
Biology concentrations serves our graduates well. So we
are convinced that we offer a challenging curriculum in
a friendly and nurturing environment.
Methodist University biology students may choose one of six curriculum
pathways: General Biology, Zoology,
Ecology and the Natural History of Plants,
Health Occupations Science, Conservation
Biology, and Microbiology-Cell
Biology.
