The human anatomy laboratory at Methodist is a critical component of the first semester Physician Assistant experience. The Gross Anatomy course is designed to provide a working knowledge of human anatomy, an understanding of physiology, disease processes, diagnostic radiology, surgical and traumatic conditions, and interventional therapy. PA students have described the course as an "invaluable" and "irreplaceable" experience, and PA faculty members believe that this anatomy laboratory lays a strong foundation for the MU Physician Assistant Program and its outstanding success. In 2010 the program opened the doors to an on-campus Anatomy Lab that can accommodate 50 students and 14 cadavers. The anatomy lab is in the top 1% of dissection labs in the nation based on technologies and equipment.
Academic Building
In addition, the program's 8,000 sq. ft. Academic Building contains
two classrooms, nine offices, men's and women's locker rooms, student
kitchen, library, and lounge, a clinical exam teaching laboratory,
and two clinical exam rooms. |
