Campus Recreation and Intramural Program (CRIMP)

The Methodist University Campus Recreational & Intramural Program provides structured and unstructured leisure time for students. These activities provide students with opportunities to learn skills that will contribute to their social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth and development. This program serves to train students in recreation, management and related fields. CRIMP also is responsible for maintaining various athletic and recreation facilities.

Our Mission

Outdoor Adventure Club

North Carolina is blessed with many exciting outdoor opportunities such as mountain rock climbing and wind surfing. Our staff can help find activities that are right for you. Most of our trips are designed to accommodate beginners, but we also have trips for the experienced person to strengthen their skills. The Outdoor Adventure program also offers campus group unique and challenging courses designed to develop trust and positive interpersonal dynamics.

Intramurals

Intramural activities include, but are not limited to, flag football, basketball, softball, volleyball, and table tennis. CRIMP also sponsors pool and spades tournaments. All activities are open to all students, faculty and staff.

Crafts

CRIMP sponsors craft classes, such as “Paint till you faint” and “Nicks and Needles”. These programs give students an opportunity to learn new hobbies while expressing creativity.

Nimocks Fitness Center

This fitness and recreation center contains a full line of Cardio equipment, such as treadmills, striders, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, and spinning bikes, along with weight machines and an indoor track. This facility has a multi-purpose gym available for basketball and volleyball.
