All full-time day students are
automatically enrolled in the student accident and health insurance
program at registration. This is intended as a secondary policy
and in the event that the student does not have a primary insurance
the student insurance policy can act as primary insurance with limitations.
Please refer to the student insurance brochure (below) for details
of coverage. Parents need to inform their insurance company of the
student’s change in status and obtain an in network referral if
necessary for treatment or purchase a rider if the student will
be out of network.
Parents please make sure your student understands how their health
insurance works. Students should have access to their insurance
cards and they should be kept with their driver’s license and student
id.
Students must obtain a referral form from the Student Health Center
before receiving off campus treatment if treatment is for non-emergency
reason. Treatment after hours should be for emergency only and a
referral form filled out as soon as possible to avoid being billed
for medical services.
All international students are required to carry adequate health
and accident insurance. A special policy is available for international
students and information may be obtained thru the international
office or from the insurance coordinator.
The Student Insurance Coordinator's Office
is located in West Hall.
