Dashiell Hammett Film Festival
October 2-5

In connection with the Cumberland County Public Library's "Big Read" program on Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon, we will be presenting four films by and about the great American hard-boiled detective writer.

Neil Simon's
The Odd Couple
November 20-23

Neil Simon's classic comedy of mismatched roommates, well-known from its stage, film and television versions. Depending on the turnout for auditions—which are open to everyone in the community—we will be presenting either the original male version which featured Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau on film, or the female version which starred Rita Moreno and Sally Struthers on stage.

Woody Allen's
Play It Again, Sam
February 19-22

Also a part of the "Big Read" program, Woody Allen's comedy is about a Bogart-obsessed film buff who strikes out with the women in his life until he conjures up the spirit of Bogie to give him a little sage advice.

April

Our final "Big Read" presentation will involve staging some of Dashiell Hammett's short stories at the downtown branch of the Cumberland County Public Library.
