Mark Tarentino ’12, ’15M, stepped in to replace the departed Mike Bonnell as Men’s Tennis Coach for the remainder of the 2016 season on an interim basis. He was named USA South Coach of the Year, as the Men's Tennis team went 13-6 (9-1, USA South) and finished as the runner-up in the USA South Conference Tournament. Following the season, Tarentino was named Assistant Director of the Professional Tennis Management program.
A three-year player as an undergrad at MU, who finished his last year of eligibility while earning his MBA, Tarentino most recently served as a tennis professional at the Bronxville Field Club in Bronxville, N.Y. He provided group and private lessons for all ages and skill levels. He also worked at the Navesink Country Club in Navesink, N.J. from May of 2012 to October of 2014 in various roles, including as the interim director of racquets, and the head racquets professional.
He is a USRSA Master Racquet Technician, and is a level two professional for the USPTA and PPTA. As a Monarch, Tarentino posted a career singles record of 10-5 with a 5-6 career mark in doubles.
