Bio:

I was born in West Virginia and did my graduate work at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I wrote my dissertation on an early twentieth century British copper mine in what is now the Republic of Kazakhstan. I teach courses in Russian and Central Asian history, world history, labor and capital, ethnicity and conflicts, especially those in southwestern Asia and the Middle East.
