Bio:

Valarie McCants is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 31 years of clinical experience. Prior to joining the counseling staff at Methodist University, she spent 12 years in private practice. Valarie’s father served 30 years in the military, so she has personal experience with and a heart for active duty military and veterans. She has worked in a variety of settings in Fayetteville and the surrounding region, including the community mental health center; as a consultant and provider for area nursing facilities; at a child/adolescent clinic specifically for military dependents; and as a consultant for veterans and military families facing the challenges of deployment and military life. She is also a Certified IMAGO Therapist, which means she has a passion for and specializes in working with people who are interested in strengthening their relationships, minimizing conflict and deepening their connection with one another.
