Academic Warning and Academic Probation

(updated from p. 26 in the 2009-10 Academic Catalogue)

The status of Academic Warning and Academic Probation is applied in accordance with the following student performance levels:

Hours Attempted**	Desired GPA	Academic Warning (Cumulative GPA)	Academic Probation (Cumulative GPA)
12-29.5	2.00 or higher	1.500-1.999	Less than 1.500
30-61.5	2.00 or higher	1.600-1.999	1.000 - 1.599
62-93.5	2.00 or higher	1.800-1.999	1.000 - 1.799
94 (+)	2.00 or higher	1.900-1.999	1.000 - 1.899

In relation to the table above, please note the following:

The heading hours attempted in the table above includes all hours attempted at Methodist University.
In the event a student achieves a GPA of 0.999 or less at the end of a fall or spring semester and has amassed 29.5 hours or more semester hours, the student will be placed on Academic Suspension even if the student has not been placed on Academic Warning or Academic Probation.

Students who are on Academic Warning must adhere to the following:

Enroll in no more than 15 semester hours.
Repeat all failed courses that are core requirements for their degree or required for their major.
If students have not already done so, enroll in and earn a minimum grade of C in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) 115: Study Skills.
Maintain regular contact with their academic faculty advisor.

Students on Academic Probation must adhere to all of the following:

Enroll in no more than 14 semester hours.
Repeat all failed courses that are core requirements for their degree or required for their major.
If students have not already done so, enroll in and earn a minimum grade of C in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) 115: Study Skills.
Maintain regular contact with their academic faculty advisor.
