Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Professional MBA Program at Methodist University provides a rigorous graduate program in business subjects for those who seek personal and professional satisfaction, wish to increase salary potential, and advance or change their careers. The MBA Program at Methodist University is flexible for busy adults, the cost is competitive, and the opportunity awaits.

The Professional MBA Program offers students a focus on Organizational Management and Leadership and blends online course work with two weekend residency class sessions per eight-week term Students can begin classes in the fall or spring and can earn their graduate degree in 16 months.

The Reeves School of Business is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) to offer a graduate degree in the Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA). ACBSP is a global business accreditation organization that provides specialized accreditation for business degree programs.


Program Description

The Professional MBA Program at Methodist University with a focus on Organizational Management & Leadership consists of 12 courses (36 credit hours) taken over 16 months. Classes are held in Margaret and Walter Clark Hall at the Reeves School of Business at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Students attend residency weekends twice  per eight-week term (on a Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday)and work online between residency weekends.  For more details, see MBA Curriculum below.

MISSION AND GOALS

The mission of the Professional MBA program is to provide a high-quality graduate education that fosters the personal and professional development of students, enabling them to perform at the highest level in the selected area of specialization.  Further, in support of the Reeves School of Business Mission and Purpose, the Professional MBA Program at Methodist University seeks to enhance the skills required of successful, entrepreneurial leaders to enable them to rise to desired heights of responsibility in their organizations or in personal ventures.  The Professional MBA Program at Methodist University is focused on filling advanced educational needs of business leaders.  To support the mission and purpose of the Professional MBA program, the following goals have been developed:

Goal # 1

Graduates of the Professional MBA program will demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge of core business administration subjects.

Goal # 2

Graduates of the Professional MBA program will demonstrate knowledge and practical application of communication and leadership skills in the specific focus area of Organizational Management and Leadership.

Objective #1

Students who graduate from the Reeves School of Business with the Master of Business Administration degree will have acquired substantive knowledge in financial and managerial accounting as it relates to business management. This will be measured by administering a pretest and posttest in the Accounting for Managers course (Goal # 1).

Objective #2

Students who graduate from the Reeves School of Business with the Master of Business Administration degree will have acquired substantive knowledge in core business administration areas.  This will be measured by the Management section of the Major Field Test (Goal # 2).

Objective #3

Students who graduate from the Reeves School of Business with the Master of Business Administration degree will have acquired substantive knowledge specific to the focus area of study. This will be measured by the Strategic Integration section of the Major Field Test (Goals # 1, 2).

Students are required to bring to class a laptop computer with Wi-Fi capability.
