Major: Business Administration with a concentration in PGA Golf Management

Class Year: Sophomore

Campus Activities: SGA Treasurer, MU Golf Association, MU Radio

Why MU?: Small classes, personal feel and the PGA Golf Management program.

Career Goal: Live a happy, healthy life and be successful.


Anthony Autry

Hometown: Elizabethtown, NC

Major: Justice Studies with a concentration in Applied Forensic Science

Class Year: Junior

Campus Activities: Football

Why MU?: It’s close to home and I love the class room settings.

Career Goal: I'd like to help people. I want to eventually work in the FBI or some type of federal job.


Ashley Baggett

Major: Business Administration, minor in Accounting

Why MU?: When I toured MU, I fell in love with it! The campus is beautiful and the faculty and staff are more than friendly. MU is close enough to my home where I can visit often, but far enough away to be away from home.

Career Goal: After graduation, I plan to earn a Masters in Accountancy and pursue CPA licensure.


Ashley Williams

Major: Physical Education and Exercise Science double major

Why MU?: MU was everything I could have ever asked for in one package. It’s a small school so I get the individual help that I need to thrive, but the campus is well maintained and provides a big school atmosphere. MU is a place that I can feel comfortable calling my home away from home.

Career Goal: Get my PhD by the time I'm 26 and make an impact on the world of Physical Education and Exercise Science.


Christie Wheeler

Hometown: Murfreesboro, TN

Major: Business Administration with a concentration in Resort and Club Management

Class Year: Junior

Campus Activities: Alpha Delta Pi, FCA, Linguists Club, Economics Anonymous, Resort Management/Club Managers Association of America, Womens' Bible Study, Chamber Singers, University Chorale, International Club, Rotaract

Why MU?: I liked the curriculum set-up for the Resort Management department; having the background in business administration is really important. Also, I really liked the campus when I came to visit during my tour. Everyone was so friendly, and I enjoyed the personal feeling of the tour.

Career Goal: I am going to work abroad for a few years doing event coordinating for a small, historical location. I will then return to the States and open an inn that will cater to events and improve the community of which it is a part.

Note: Christie is studying abroad in Ireland for the spring 2011 semester.


Courtney Fernandez

Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA

Major: Biology, Psychology minor

Campus Activities: Alpha Delta Pi, Tri-Beta, Gospel Choir, Students Promoting the Welfare of Animals, American Chemical Society, Health Occupations Society, Young Democrats

Why MU?: I chose MU because I felt like a part of a family here. My first visit here I met so many people who were willing to help me with any questions, comments or concerns I had no matter how big or small. I felt an instant connection with the people and faculty I met here. This was the best and most important decision I have made in my life thus far.

Career Goal: I would like to attend medical school focusing in research of genetic disorders in children. I would like to open a research facility for the study of Cystic Fibrosis.


Felicia Back

Hometown: Fayetteville, NC

Major: Elementary Education

Class Year: Senior

Campus Activities: Alpha Delta Pi, Honors Program, Rotaract, Lector Club

Why MU?: MU felt like home, everywhere you go you see someone that you know.

Career Goal: Teach in a public school and eventually become a professor at a small university.


Geneva Runion

Hometown: Dunn, NC

Major: Chemistry, Justice Studies minor

Class Year: Senior

Campus Activities: Gamma Sigma Epsilon (Chemistry honor society), Chemistry Club, Criminal Justice and Forensic Science Association, Student Court justice, Student Activities Committee, Campus Recreation and Intramural Program

Why MU?: I like the smaller size, familiar area and distance from my home.

Career Goal: I would eventually like to work for the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency).


Kaitlin Flaherty

Hometown: League City, TX

Major: Marketing with a concentration in Professional Tennis Management (PTM)

Class Year: Senior

Campus Activities: Women's tennis team, PTM Club, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Marketing Club, FCA, Delta Mu Delta, Alpha Chi

Why MU?: Small classes, friendly campus environment, tennis program and the PTM curriculum.

Career Goal: Marketing position with a tennis related company.


Kayci Miller

Hometown: Frazeysburg, OH

Major: Chemistry with a concentration in Forensic Science

Class Year: Junior

Campus Activities: Women's volleyball team, FCA. Chemistry Club, Criminal Justice and Forensic Science Association

Why MU?: I decided to attend Methodist University because of the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that I experienced from both staff and students while on my campus visit, staying overnight on my visit and making friends on the volleyball team that have become lifelong friendships, having a coach that truly cares about the “student” more than the “athlete” of a student-athlete, the university offering my major and concentration, and the beautiful landscaping of campus.

Career Goal: I am going to be a forensic chemist for either a state or federal law enforcement agency.


Kristy Zeiler

Hometown: Lutherville, MD

Major: Biology with minors in Chemistry and Leadership Studies

Class Year: Senior

Campus Activities: Cross Country, Track and Field, Alpha Delta Pi, Women's Bible Study, FCA, Monday Crew, Walk by Faith Bible Study

Why MU?: The quality of the Methodist University Physician Assistant program.

Career Goal: I eventually hope to be a pediatric physician assistant.


Rachel Purser

Hometown: Matthews, NC

Major: Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Tennis Management (PTM) and a minor in Leadership Studies

Class Year: Sophomore

Campus Activities: Women's tennis, FCA, Alpha Delta Mu, PTM Club

Why MU?:The PTM program and the women's tennis team were the biggest reasons that I chose MU. I also loved the fact that MU is a small school.

Career Goal: I want to teach tennis at different places all over the world.
