Meet the Admissions Team

Rick Lowe, Vice-President for Enrollment Services, has been at Methodist University since 1996. A native of Fayetteville, Rick has over 20 years of experience in college admissions. His primary responsibilities include supervision of admissions, financial aid, and veteran services. Rick does some in-state travel during the fall.

Jamie Legg, Dean of Admissions, joined the Methodist University admissions staff in May of 1997. Jamie received his MBA from Methodist University in December of 2009. His primary responsibilities include overseeing strategic planning in the admissions office, day-to-day supervision of the Admissions Staff, student search, research, special projects and admissions marketing.  Jamie is responsible for students whose last name falls between D and G and his travel territory includes parts of North Carolina.

Shasta Culbreth, Associate Director of Admissions, is in charge of internal operations. Shasta’s duties include managing communications for accepted students, supervising the support staff, and coordinating campus visits. A native of Sampson County, Shasta has been an employee of Methodist University since May, 1996.

David Webb, Associate Director of Admissions, joined the Methodist University admissions staff in May of 2000 and has over 25 years experience, all in private college admissions. David has served, and continues to serve on committees within the admissions profession on the state level in North Carolina. He is responsible for students whose last name falls between Q and S and his travel territory includes parts of North Carolina and various out-of-state destinations.

Ombati (Bati) Mogaka, Admissions Counselor, is a 2016 graduate of Methodist University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies and a minor in Legal Studies. As an undergraduate student, Bati was active in numerous student organizations, including the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and Kappa Alpha Psi. Bati was born in Kenya, Africa but moved to North Carolina as a child and attended Southeast Raleigh High School prior to MU. Bati is responsible for students whose last name falls between T and Z and his travel territory includes various out-of-state destinations.

Trey Such, Admissions Counselor, started in the admissions office after graduating from Methodist University in 2012. Trey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and his MBA from Methodist University in December 2013. As an undergraduate, Trey was captain of the Methodist University baseball team, president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee a member of FCA Leadership team and he served as a University Ambassador. He is originally from Sanford, NC.Trey is responsible for students whose last name falls between H and L and his travel territory includes parts of Virginia and various out-of-state destinations.

Taylor Murphy, Admissions Counselor, is a 2015 graduate of Methodist University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and minors in Legal Studies and Spanish. Taylor was active in numerous student organizations and was a Global Fellow and served as the New Student Orientation Captain, Resident Advisor, and on numerous campus committees. Taylor is from Toms River, NJ and joined the Admissions staff in June of 2015. Taylor is responsible for students whose last name falls between M and P and her travel territory includes various out-of-state destinations.

Indya Addison, Admissions Counselor, is a December 2015 graduate of Methodist University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology. While an undergraduate at MU, Indya was active in the Marching Monarchs, pep band, concert band, the Methodist University Chorale, the Methodist University Chamber Singers, the Treble Tones, the Monarch Review, Leadership Fellows, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Honors Program. Indya is from Wilmington, NC and joined the Admissions staff in January of 2016. Indya is responsible for students whose last name falls between A and C and her travel territory includes various out-of-state destinations.

Vicky Shirley, Admissions Administrative Assistant, joined Methodist University in October of 2011. Her main responsibilities include coordinating campus visits, assisting with the communication flow to prospects, processing applications, and answering the primary Admissions line.
