The first ever Expanding the Global
Mindset business luncheon was held on October 17, 2005. The
special guest speaker for this event was Honorable Tony Rand, North
Carolina State Senator, District 19. Mr. Rand had visited China
only days before leading the discussion and shared valuable insight
from a first-hand point of view regarding the changing global economy.
The CFE feels that our business community must develop a “global
mindset” in order to keep up in the highly competitive global
market. This program was developed to move forward with change,
not compete with it. Exploring the various possibilities and opportunities
within the global economy is the goal, and the outcome of the first
program exceeded all expectation.
The first annual Legacy Lunch
was held on January 20, 2005 to honor Mr. and Mrs. Ron and
Sharon Matthews, owners of Family Foods, Inc. The Legacy
Lunch honors individual business owners who make a significant
contribution to the local economy and improve the quality
of life of those in the community. This banquet honors the
most ethical entrepreneurs who are actively involved in
making their business meet a higher standard. In an age
where many businesses fail to operate by high quality values
and principles, the CFE seeks to recognize the hard work
and dedication of the few which make a difference in the
commerce of our daily life.
