Restore The Classics
You left the familiarity of mom and dad to live here. It’s where you met your best friends, crammed for exams and made lasting memories. It was your freshman dorm and it needs your help.
Help Restore the Classics… Garber, Cumberland, Weaver & Sanford
As landmarks on the sprawling campus of Methodist University, Garber, Cumberland, Weaver and Sanford Halls have provided learning, living and growing environments for students since their construction in the 1960s.
Within these halls, students have taken their first steps into adulthood, formed lifelong friendships and walked away with years of memories. Although the University has since constructed six additional residence halls, these four “classic” buildings still house 85% of incoming freshmen.
The importance of these buildings does not lie solely in the memories of students, however. It can also be found in the hearts and minds of the United Methodist Annual Conference attendees, whom for over 25 years used these halls for respite and relaxation.
Unfortunately, the significance of these residential buildings will soon pale in comparison to hot and humid summers, leaky faucets, and worn lobby furniture. The cost to renovate these “classic” residential halls is approximately $2.2 million dollars. The University cannot complete these renovations without you!
