Concert Band

Rehearses: Mondays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

The Concert Band seeks to educate its performers and audience through high quality performance of challenging literature. Designed as both a performance ensemble and a “lab band” for the music education students, the Concert Band will perform both traditional and contemporary band literature. As with all the MU Bands, the Concert Band is open to all students regardless of academic major. We will present two concerts and participate in Commencement activities in both fall and spring semesters. All members are required to enroll in MUS in order to receive one academic credit.

Scholarships

Participation scholarships are available to all students (regardless of major) who wish to play in one or more MU instrumental ensembles. Marching Band students will be granted a $1000.00 scholarship regardless of major. Pep-Band students will be awarded $500.00 for participation after marching season. Music Majors and Minors are eligible to compete for one of two $3000.00 departmental scholarships. Additional scholarship money may be awarded to exceptional students depending on the availability of scholarship funds.
