Elementary Education

If you're thinking about majoring in Elementary Education at Methodist University, you will learn to teach through a careful balance of theory and practice. Our Teacher Candidates bring to the classroom expertise backed by years of hands-on experiences, learning methods, and instructional techniques that have real-world application. Teacher Candidates are given opportunities to demonstrate their skill of teaching in front of their peers and professors who give them immediate feedback. One of the strengths of our program is the numerous field experiences we offer. By the time you graduate, you'll have had extensive experiences in the public school classroom beyond the standard student teaching experience. This combination means you're knowledgeable, comfortable, and confident when you step into your student teaching internship and ultimately your own classroom.
