Curriculum

Requirements for the Major in Health Care Administration:

36 semester hours which include the following courses:

Required courses: HCA 2000, 3050, 3300, 3400, 3500, 3600, 4500, 4700 and 4800.

The student must choose three additional courses from this list of elective courses: HCA 2300, 4100, 4200, and 4400.

*All students (traditional or non-traditional) who do not have a minimum of five (5) years work experience (documented) in a health-related organization will be required to take the BHC 4800, Health Care Internship, course as a requirement for graduation with the Health Care Administration degree.

Students may earn a minor in Health Care Administration by adding the minor (18 semester hours) to any degree. These courses include HCA 2000, 3050, 3300, 3500, and any two additional HCA courses.

Students may earn a minor in Health Care Information Management by adding the minor (18 semester hours) to any degree. These courses include CSC 2010, 3600, 4110, 4200, and HCA 3600.

Requirements for the Foundation Courses: ACC 2510, ACC 2530, CSC 1000, ECO 2160, ECO 2610, ECO 2620, BUS 3200, BUS 3520, and MKT 2510.

Requirements for the Concentration in Business Health Care Administration (available to majors in the Reeves School of Business): 24 s.h. - HCA 2000, HCA 2300, HCA 3050, HCA 3500, HCA 4500, plus three additional HCA courses.
