HCA students are briefed
on the OB Ward at Womack Army Medical Center
Health care is a rapidly changing field. The administration
of programs and organizations in health care requires knowledge,
skill, and a strong sense of compassion for others. The
concentration of Health Care Administration
prepares students to enter, or advance, into the management
area in a variety of positions and organizations related
to the health care field. These positions could involve
being a provider relation’s coordinator, a marketing/public
relations director, a medical group practice manager, a
public health worker, an insurance group analyst, an administrator
in a not-for-profit organization like the CARE Clinic or
Red Cross, a department head in a hospital, or many other
professional entry or midlevel positions. The concentration
could also be a springboard for graduate school or work
in one of many health care specialties, including health
care administration, business administration, public administration,
political science or law.
Methodist University is accredited by the Commission on
Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
to award master's and baccalaureate degrees. The Reeves
School of Business is a member of the Association of Collegiate
Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), an accrediting organization
for business schools. The Health Care Administration Program
has been accepted as an affiliate member in the Association
of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
