Welcome New Monarch! Thank you
for choosing Methodist University. We are looking forward to meeting
you and are currently preparing for your arrival.
The information contained in this letter, as well as information
found on the website, will be beneficial for completing your housing
application, selecting a roommate and applying to the First Year
Experience (FYE) program.
We have several halls specifically for first-year students:
- Cumberland Hall and Sanford Hall are co-educational, traditional style building
with identical floor plans.
- Weaver Hall is an all-female residence
hall
- Pearce Hall houses our First Year Experience (FYE) program.
The FYE program is uniquely designed to help first-year students
connect with other first-year students in a close-knit living environment. This program, housed in Pearce Hall, is open only to those students
who have a cumulative g.p.a. of 3.0 or higher at the time of application
to the program.
Because space in this program is limited, the FYE application is time sensitive and should be completed no later than June
30 for the fall semester.
Please review the website carefully.
- If you have a preferred
roommate, you will be able to note this information on the lifestyle
questionnaire, and your prospective roommate should request you
on his/her form. Self-selected roommates must be submitted by June
15. If you have not selected a roommate, one will be selected for
you. We make every attempt to match individuals by major, sport
or other interest. We cannot guarantee
that you will get the roommate that you request, but every attempt
will be made to honor that request.
- Review print and sign
the Methodist University Housing Contract.
- Once you have filled
out the Lifestyle Questionnaire, housing application/contract and
FYE application (if eligible) please forward this information to:
Housing and Residence Life
Methodist University
5400 Ramsey Street
Fayetteville, NC 28311
We will then begin the process of assigning your room and
roommate.
Room assignments will be sent to your Methodist University e-mail
account the first few weeks of July. You will receive contact information
for your roommate in this e-mail. Please
be advised that all dependent students who have earned less than
62 semester hours must live in university operated residence halls
unless they commute from the home of a parent or legal guardian
residing within 60 miles of the university. All requests
for waivers of this policy must be directed in writing to the Dean
of Students.
If you have questions regarding campus living, please visit the
Housing and Residence Life Web site or send an e-mail to
or call us at (910) 630-7626. Have a great year and again, welcome
new Monarch!
Sincerely,
Clifton R. Bobbitt
Director of Housing and Residence Life
