Welcome from the Director of Housing & Residence Life!

Dear Monarch,

Welcome to Methodist University! It is hard to believe that in a few short weeks you will be moving into your residence hall room. Hopefully you have been able to navigate through the portal and sign your housing contract and select a roommate. If you are having trouble, I have placed some tips below that will hopefully help you resolve your issues. If these tips do not resolve your problem, please do not hesitate to call the Housing and Residence Life office at 910-630-7626 or email us at reslifeinfo@methodist.edu.

Information for those who paid their housing deposit by June 2

Step 1: Sign your housing contract online May 1 – June 2

**Note that if you didn't sign your contract before June 2, you did not receive a lottery number and you will not be eligible for lottery #1. You will be placed in lottery #2.

**Also, you can't proceed to step 2 until step 1 is complete.

Step 2: Roommate selection and lottery number assignment June 3 – June 16

**If you followed step 1 through the timeframe allotted, then you should have a lottery number and be allowed to request a roommate or search for a roommate using the search function.

**When using the search function to find a roommate, it is recommended that you limit the criteria to a few fields. This will provide better search results and a larger group of potential roommates.

Step 3: Online room selection(Lottery) June 17

**The lottery is based on deposit paid dates with the earlier paid deposits choosing rooms first.

**You will have 2 minutes to select your desired room and can't select a room until your time is activated.

**If you have selected a roommate and you have confirmed each other in the system, one roommate can select a room for the both of you

Step 4: Choose your meal plan

**If you do not choose a meal plan, one will be chosen for you.
