International Scholarships

Methodist University offers merit-based scholarships to entering international students who meet admissions criteria. This scholarship program is applicable only to students enrolled full-time (twelve credits or more) in the campus-based academic program. Renewal of merit-based scholarship cannot be extended beyond the eighth (8th) semester of college-level work, and is based upon maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress at Methodist University. Should the housing status of the student change, the scholarship offer will be revised.

Presidential Scholarships: Residential Freshmen

The Presidential Scholarship for international residential (on-campus housing) students ranges from $21,000 to $28,000 and is offered based on the combination of GPA at the previous academic institution and standardized test results. Minimum required GPA is 3.0 and minimum standardized test results are 6.5 IELTs, 72 Internet Based TOEFL, 22 ACT, or 1100 SAT.

Presidential Scholarships: Commuting Freshmen

The Presidential Scholarship for international commuting students (off-campus housing) ranges from $15,500 to $20,750 and is offered based on the combination of grade point average at the previous academic institution and standardized test results. Minimum required GPA is 3.0 and minimum standardized test results are 6.5 IELTs, 72 Internet Based TOEFL, 22 ACT, or 1100 SAT.

Presidential Scholarships: Transfer Students

International students transferring from other accredited institutions who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better (on a four-point scale) on thirty-one (31) credits or more of college level work at the previous institution(s) will be offered a transfer Presidential Scholarship. The transfer Presidential Scholarship ranges from $15,500 to $24,000 per year and is offered at the time a student applies to the University at the discretion of the Global Education Office.

Renewal of the Presidential Scholarship is determined at the end of a two semester period and is contingent on the student making Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students seeking re-admission to Methodist University are ineligible to be considered for this scholarship.

Methodist University Opportunity Scholarship

Methodist University offers Opportunity Scholarships to incoming international students who do not meet Presidential Scholarship eligibility, but who demonstrate academic potential and leadership abilities. The Opportunity Scholarship ranges from $14,000 to $23,000 per year and is offered at the time a student applies to the University at the discretion of the Global Education Office. Renewal of the Opportunity Scholarship is determined at the end of a two semester period and is contingent on the student making Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students seeking re-admission to Methodist University are ineligible to be considered for this scholarship.
