Dragonlight by Dontia K. Paul

I loved the finding of the meech colony, however I am unclear about how The Followers were taken care off. But, This is a good book, it ties into the rest of the series, and the adventure always seems to be the calling for the characters.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

This book is set in a near future where the planet is heading for a decline. With wars raging, famine, and disease; people escape this grim reality by plugging into the OASIS. This is an advance computer and gaming system wrapped in one that is now used by everyone on the planet. The inventor of [...]

Magician King by Lev Grossman

This book is the second part of the The Magicians. The Magician King starts with Quentin and his friends, who are now the king and queens of Fillory, which is the magical kingdom that they read about as children that they have recently discovered is a real place. Although one of the kings of Fillory, [...]

The Magicians by Lev Grossman

I probably would have never picked up this book if a friend hadn’t recommended it to me. Once I started reading it, though, it was hard to put it down. With a somewhat mature Harry Potter feel, this book is about Quentin Coldwater. Quentin and the crowd he hangs out with are all really smart. [...]

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Mockingjay is the last book of the Hunger Games series, and my least favorite out of the three. Katniss has found herself to be in District 13, thought to have been wiped out by the capital. She wakes up to find out that she was saved from the games but now Peeta has been captured [...]

Several years ago I found this book online and never got a chance to read it since I was still in school. After seeing it one day and ordering it for the library, and now after reading, I’m glad I did. This is the story of Thom. Thom is raised by his dad who was [...]

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

The second book of the Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, is a very good read and may have been just as good as the first one. The story picks up months after Katniss and Peeta return from the Games and are now living their lives in the victor’s village. Katniss is unaware that her actions [...]

The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman

Elizabeth is not the popular kid at school or even noticed for that matter, and her home isn’t any better. She has to share her Dad, whom she doesn’t see that often, with her step mother and step sisters, so she seems to just be unhappy in general; until one day when she gives a [...]

Wayne of Gotham a Novel by Tracy Hickman

Wayne of Gotham is the first actual novel I have read that is about Batman. I found it to be a very good read and may even prefer it over conventional comic books or graphic novels. The story takes place later in Batman’s career. He is now older and needs a high tech bat suit [...]

The Witching Hour by Anne Rice

I am a big fan of Anne Rice, and going into this book I was hoping it was as good as her Vampire Chronicle books. After reading over nine hundred pages, it was well worth the time it took to read and maybe as good as the Vampire Chronicles. The story takes place with a [...]
