Trail of Blood is the most recent book in Black’s books focused on Theresa MacLean. This is the third book in the series (the Library has them all if you want to start with the first). I enjoyed the plot development in this book, but wished the author had figured out a way to tell the story without the flashbacks. I did not like the cops the flashbacks centered on so that made them less enjoyable as well. The mystery is a complex one with a modern day killer copying the murders of the Torso Killer from Depression-era Cleveland. A body hidden in a secret room, political pressure, trains, what more can a girl ask for? So, bottom line, no previous series knowledge is necessary to get tangled up in Trail of Blood. I am eagerly waiting for the fourth as they keep getting better as Black develops as an author.
