Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery - Distance Learning Students

Davis Memorial Library provides enhanced document delivery services to distance learning students. To qualify for these services the student must meet two conditions:

Student must be currently enrolled in at least one online or off-campus course
Student must live at least 50 miles from campus and not take any courses on-campus

The Library provides resources to distance learning students through a variety of delivery options. Use the information and guidelines below to request items for your distance learning courses. Contact the library if you encounter any difficulties or have any suggestions on how we can better meet your needs.

Articles

Request journal articles using the article request form. The request will be delivered to the Library and then forwarded to the student via postal or electronic mail.

Request Articles Online

Books

Request books using the book request form. The request will be delivered to the Library and then forwarded to the student, or the student's off-campus classroom location, via postal mail. A prepaid return shipping label will be included.

Loan Periods

Davis Memorial Library Books

Undergraduate - 28 days, 2 possible renewals
Graduate - 90 days, 2 possible renewals

Other Library Books

Due dates and renewal privileges are set by the lending institution, so plan your research accordingly.

Articles

Copies of articles and other items are yours to keep and do not need to be returned.

Returns

Return the items using the prepaid return shipping label provided with the requests. Students in the MBA (@ Pinehurst) and MJA (@ North Carolina Justice Academy) can return their books to the program coordinators at their off-campus locations.

Overdues, Lost & Damaged

Davis Memorial Library Books

$.10 per day after a 7 day grace period. Students are charged a replacement cost, plus associated fees, for all items that are overdue more than 28 days.

Other Library Books

$1.00 per day after a 7. Books must be at the Davis Memorial Library on the due date. There is NO grace period. Students are charged all costs assessed by the lending library for all items that are more than 30 days overdue.

Lost & Damaged

Students are responsible for the care and handling of all requests. Students are assessed fees for all lost and damaged items.
