1. How do I register for the GMAT®?
The test taker must first select a GMAT®
test center location. Most test centers are in permanent
locations and offer the Computer-Adaptive GMAT®
throughout the year. Some test centers are Mobile (temporary)
and offer the Computer-Adaptive GMAT® on
a very limited schedule. In some countries, supplementary
test centers offer a paper-based version of the test once
or twice a year. Each test center operates on its own schedule
and can accommodate varying numbers of test takers. Test
takers choose the most convenient location for them by viewing
www.mba.com.
Once where to take the test has been determined, test takers then
need to schedule a GMAT® test appointment using one
of three methods: online, by phone, or by mail. They can find out
what times are available at their chosen test center, plus details
on all registration procedures and payment methods, by using the
Check Seat Availability feature on www.mba.com
in the GMAT® section of the site www.mba.com/mba/takethegmat.
If a test taker has a documented disability and requires
special testing accommodations, he or she must follow the
registration procedures as described in the Test
Takers with Disabilities article in the GMAT®
section of mba.com.
2. Why do I need to take the GMAT®?
The GMAT has been proven, through extensive research, to
be an invaluable assessment tool for 1,800+ graduate management
programs globally. The GMAT® exam is a valid
predictor of academic success.
3. What if you don't receive my test
results prior to the application deadline?
Your application, if incomplete, will still be considered
on time and will be evaluated independently of these test
results, as long as we know that your results are on the
way to our Admissions Office. However, you can only be granted
conditional admission until we receive your test scores
and they are deemed satisfactory by our Admissions Committee.
4. What if I don't score high enough
for your admission guidelines?
Each student's complete application is evaluated on an
individual basis, and a GMAT® score that
is lower than our guideline does not bar an applicant from
admission. However, we STRONGLY recommend that you take
the GMAT® as early as possible for two reasons.
First, if you do not score as high as you would like (you
receive your scores for the quantitative and verbal sections
immediately after taking the computer-adaptive test so you
have immediate feedback), you will still have time to take
the test again before our application deadline. Second,
GMAT® centers tend to be busier in the late
spring, so you may have to wait longer to take the test
after registering if you do not register until March.
5. Where can I find out more information?
Detailed information about the GMAT® is available
at www.mba.com.
