September 1, 2008 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The USA South has announced their athletes of the week. The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week. Sara Yeatman has been named the USA South Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. The senior outside hitter from Dunn, North Carolina recorded 40 kills, a .233 hitting percentage, 38 digs, four blocks, one assist and one service ace as the Monarchs went 2-1 last week. In a 3-0 win over Columbia, Yeatman recorded a team-high nine kills with seven digs, one block, one assist and one service ace. In a 3-1 loss to Messiah, Yeatman totaled a double-double of 12 kills and 18 digs to go along with two blocks. Finally, in a 3-1 win over Columbia, Yeatman tallied her second double-double of the week with a game-high 19 kills and 13 digs. She also added a block in the victory. Jordan Grady has been named the USA South Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. The junior defensive specialist from Erwin, North Carolina recorded 63 digs, four assists and three kills last week as the Monarchs went 2-1. In a 3-0 win over Columbia, Grady recorded a game-high 17 digs with two kills and one assist. In a 3-1 loss to Messiah, Grady totaled a team-high 26 digs with three assists.
