Fitzgerald Named Head Dance Coach
Methodist alum returns to lead the Monarchs

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- Athletic Director Bob McEvoy has announced former Methodist student-athlete Kamina Fitzgerald has been hired as the dance coach. Fitzgerald will take over a program that has previously been combined with the Methodist cheerleading team.

“I am excited to be back coaching where I graduated,” Fitzgerald said. “I want to give back to the program where I received my own education.”

A 2003 Methodist graduate, Fitzgerald was a three-year member of the Methodist dance team. Since graduation, she has served as an instructor as well as developed her own business opportunities. Fitzgerald currently serves as the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Transforming Generations Corporation. The after school performing arts clubs were designed to provide children something constructive to do in their free time.

Fitzgerald looks forward to using her talents to lead the Methodist dance team to new heights. “My goal is to have a team that will compete and do well in the national competition again,” she added.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Methodist in 2003, Fitzgerald went on to earn her Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in Leadership last summer.

Fitzgerald will host tryouts for the dance team March 24-27. For more information contact her at 910.630.7154.
