Methodist Donates More than 1,500 Canned Goods
Women's basketball team wins school-wide competition with 693 items donated

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The USA South Athletic Conference recently hosted its annual "Cans Across the Conference" event. Each conference member collects canned goods and non-perishable food items throughout the fall semester to donate to a local charity while competiting against the other institutions. The Methodist University community donated 1,509 items towards the conference total of 17,389 items.

The Methodist Student Athlete Advisory Committee organized a competition within the school for teams and campus groups to compete for donations. The Methodist women's basketball team won the contest with 693 items while the softball team placed second with 300 items.

All of the items collected at Methodist will be donated to a local organization, Urban Ministries, to help the Fayetteville community.
