February 11, 2008 Seth Kivett has been named the USA South Baseball Player of the Week. The sophomore third baseman from Bear Creek, North Carolina hit .750 (6-for-8) with three runs scored, nine RBI, one double and three home runs as the Monarchs opened the season with two wins over Randolph-Macon last week. In the first game, a 12-2 win for Methodist, Kivett was a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs scored and two home runs, one of which was a grand slam. In game number two, a 9-6 Monarch victory, Kivett was 2-for-4 with one run scored, three RBI, one walk, one double and a home run.
