Methodist Baseball Jumps to Number 18 in Recent ABCA Poll
Monarchs move ahead three spots after being ranked #21 two weeks ago

FAYETTEVILLE, NC— The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Collegiate Baseball released the second poll of the season for NCAA Division III Baseball on Tuesday with the Monarchs ranked number eighteen in the country. 

Methodist is 23-9 entering this weekend's USA South Conference Tournament.  The Monarchs received the number one seed winning the regular season in a tiebreaker.  With this year's conference championship, for the first time in program history, Methodist has won three consecutive regular season titles.

Ranked 18th, in the country, the Monarchs also moved up one spot in the South region poll ranked third just behind Emory and Salisbury.  The Monarchs will look to win the conference tournament title for the first time since 2004 with their first game scheduled for 8 pm on Thursday against the winner of Greensboro and Shenandoah.
