George and Carolyn Armstrong on hand to receive proclamation in honor of their gift for stadium lights

FAYETTEVILLE, NC— George and Carolyn Armstrong were honored Tuesday evening with a proclamation in honor of their generosity and dedication to the Methodist baseball program.  The field had been named in honor of the first baseball coach Bruce Shelley.   Members of the Shelley family as well as the Armstrong family were in attendance to celebrate the occasion.  Methodist baseball player Josh Andrade and his sister Jessica performed the National Anthem, while alumni and other Methodist supporters gathered to commemorate the new stadium lights.
