May 20, 2007 FERRUM, VA - Emory University took Ferrum to 12 innings to win the South Regional and advance to the NCAA World Series. At the conclusion of the Regional in Ferrum, the All-Tournament team was selected including Methodist senior Michael Ellsworth. Ellsworth batted .462 with six RBI and five runs scored in three games for the Monarchs. Methodist started the tournament with a 21-14 win over Bridgewater. Ellsworth led the team going 5-for-5 from the plate with five RBI. He drove in another run in a loss to Emory and scored the only run for the Monarchs in a loss to York on Friday. After transferring from North Carolina Wesleyan, Ellsworth finished a three-year career at Methodist with a .341 career batting average after leading the team this season batting .391. |
