Kirbie Britt returns to Methodist as Sports Information Director
2003 graduate previously worked with the Carolina Courage
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Methodist athletic director Bob
McEvoy announced today the hiring of Kirbie Britt as Sports
Information Director at Methodist
College. Britt, who begins her position on Aug. 1, comes to
Methodist after serving as an Accountant/ Support Coordinator at
Inter-Rail Management in Centerville, MD for the past two and a
half years.
The Sports Information Director position was vacated when Lee
Wright resigned in mid-March and has been filled on an interim
basis since then.
“We are excited that Kirbie will be joining our staff” said McEvoy. “Her
energy and enthusiasm will serve our athletic department very
well here at Methodist College.”
In addition to working with web
design and customer service at Inter-Rail, Britt also worked for
the Carolina Courage Professional Soccer Organization. As
Community Relations and Camp Coordinator for the Courage, Britt
scheduled player appearances, recorded statistics, and helped
develop media guides and game notes.
Britt- a 2003 Methodist graduate
who graduated in just three years- also received her Master's
Degree in Sports Management from the University of Tennessee in
June of 2005.
As a Monarch student-athlete
Britt excelled in both the classroom and on the soccer field.
In 2003, she received the prestigious honor of Methodist College
Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. That same year she
also received the Coaches Award for her role with the Women's
Soccer team.
"I am extremely excited to
return" said Britt, "Methodist College is my second home and I
am excited to give back to a program that gave so much to me."
One of Britt's main goals in her
new role will be to promote the outstanding athletic programs
that Methodist offers to the Fayetteville and surrounding
communities.
