Husein Nasiro-Sigo USA South Athlete of the Week
Nasiro-Sigo won the Old North State Championships hosted by Guilford on Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The USA South has announced their athletes of the week for all fall sports.  The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week.

Junior cross country runner Husein Nasiro-Sigo was named the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week.  Nasiro-Sigo won the Old North State Championships on Saturday and helped his team to a 5th place finish.  A native of Koffela, Ethiopia and the reigning USA South Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year, Nasiro-Sigo ran his first 8K of the season in a time of 25:38 against NCAA Division I and II competition. 

The cross country team will travel to the Greensboro Invitational on Saturday.
