Patton and Nasiro-Sigo Honored as USA South Athletes of the Week
Both repeat awards from last week

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- 
The USA South has announced their athletes of the week for all fall sports.  The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week.

Krystal Patton, a junior from Hope Mills, NC wins the Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. On Saturday Patton led the women at the Hagan-Stone Classic placing 33rd out of 129 runners and third out of all Division III runners.  Patton ran the 5K in 21:11 improving her time from the prior week.

Junior cross country runner Husein Nasiro-Sigo was named the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth consecutive week.  Nasiro-Sigo placed second amongst 139 competitors at the Hagan-Stone Classic, just two seconds behind the winner who set a new course record.  A native of Koffela, Ethiopia and the reigning USA South Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year, Nasiro-Sigo ran the 8K in a time of 24:59 against many NCAA Division I and II competitors.  Both the men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Durham, NC to compete in the NC Central Invitational on Saturday at 10 am.
