Cross Country Competes at First Meet of the Season
Husein Nasiro-Sigo finishes 10th with 15:41

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  After practicing every day for the past month, the Methodist cross country team was anxious to compete.  The men and women traveled to the Adidas Raleigh Cross Country Invitational at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC on Friday.  N.C. State won both the men's and women's 5,000 meter run, but the Methodist men placed 5th with 155 points.

Husein Nasiro-Sigo led the Monarchs with a time of 15:41 placing 10th in the race.  Freshmen Zach Yonk (18:35) and Adam Clouse (19:04) finished 30th and 35th respectively.  The other two scorers for the men's team were Chase Patillo in 46th place in 20:35 and Frank Ware was 49th in 21:01.  On the women's side Krystal Patton finished 35th with a time of 23:15.  Tia Imel ran in 25:42 and Jen Kiner finished in 26:27.

The teams will compete at home on Wednesday in a dual meet against Fayetteville State at 4 pm.
