October 24, 2007 FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for men's and women's cross country. Methodist was honored with one male and one female on the USA South First Team. Senior Husein Nasiro-Sigo has been named to the First Team for the fourth time in his career. Nasiro-Sigo competed in three meets this year including the Methodist PA 5K, the Adidas Wolfpack 5K, and the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic. Nasiro-Sigo placed in the top ten in every meet including a first place finish at the Methodist PA 5K. Senior Krystal Patton is a four-time All-Conference selection and a two-time First Team member. This season Patton ran in four meets including the Methodist PA 5K, Old North State Invitational, the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic and the Methodist Invitational. Her season best came at the Methodist PA 5K with a 26:03 finish. For the first time, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team including a member from each conference school who have demonstrated integrity and honor during the season. Freshman Travis Fulp represents the Methodist men while sophomore Jen Kiner represents the women. Both the men and women's teams will travel to Pleasant Garden, N.C. on Saturday to compete at the USA South Cross Country Championships.
