Nasiro-Sigo, Patton prevail in Clayton-Sykes Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. –
The Methodist cross country teams opened the 2005 season at home on Saturday, hosting the Clayton-Sykes Invitational. Although there was no team scores kept, Methodist had first place winners in both the men’s and women’s races.

Sophomore Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the men’s race in a time of 17:55, while Krystal Patton was victorious in the women’s race in a time of 24:25. Nasiro-Sigo outdistanced Methodist teammate Ryan Taylor, who finished second in a time of 21:05, and Patton finished ahead of North Carolina Wesleyan’s Kaitlin Wells, who was second in 30:09.

Both Methodist teams return to action on Sept. 24 at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Raleigh.
