Nasiro-Sigo to be Featured on the CBS NCAA Fall Highlight Show
Cross country runner Husein Nasiro-Sigo profiled on special to air December 30th
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- 
Junior cross country runner Husein Nasiro-Sigo will be featured on the CBS NCAA Fall Highlight Show on December 30th to air at 1 pm EST.  CBS Sports became interested in Nasiro-Sigo's personal journey as a student-athlete from Koffela, Ethiopia and interviewed him at the NCAA Championship meet in Wilmington, Ohio in November.  release

Macharia Yuot of Widener University runs away with the win
WILMINGTON, OH-  The top collegiate cross country runners from all across the United States convened in Wilmington, OH to compete at the National Championships on Saturday.  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo qualified for the meet after placing second last weekend at the South/Southeast regional meet.  release

Husein Nasiro-Sigo Places Second at South Regional Meet
Freshman Zach Yonk and junior Krystal Patton also compete
ATLANTA, GA-  Cross country runners from around the South region came together on Saturday to compete in the South/Southeast Regional hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo placed second out of the 152 men with a time of 26:07.  The top seven men and women automatically qualify for the national meet in Wilmington, OH November 18th.  release

GREENSBORO, NC-  The USA South Conference Championship meet was held at Hagan-Stone Park in Greensboro, NC on Saturday.  The Methodist men's team placed second overall while the women placed sixth.  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K in a time of 26:57.  release

Five Monarchs Named to USA South All-Conference Teams
Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo named Runner of the Year for second consecutive year
FAYETTEVILLE, NC- 
The USA South released their USA South All-Conference teams for both men and women on Wednesday.  The conference championship meet will be Saturday, October 28th at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, NC.  On October 30th, an All-Meet team will be announced in addition to the All-Conference team.  release

Junior Tia Imel places eighth in the women's race
DURHAM, NC-  The cross country team traveled to NC Central University to compete in their invitational which also included Winston-Salem State University.  The men's team combined to earn 29 points placing second in the meet.  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K in a time of 25:28.  release

Nasiro-Sigo Leads Men to 13th Place Finish at Hagan-Stone
Freshman Zach Yonk beats personal record with time of 29:31
GREENSBORO, NC-  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo found competition on Saturday at the Hagan-Stone Classic.  Last week Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K by more than a minute, but today was edged out by New York Institute of Technology runner Evans Kigen by 2 seconds.  Nasiro-Sigo placed second with a time of 24:59.  The men's team combined to earn 308 points to place 13th amongst the 16 teams competing across the three NCAA divisions.  release

Freshman Chase Pattillo slashes two minutes off of his time
GREENSBORO, NC-  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won his second consecutive meet traveling to the Greensboro Invitational on Saturday.  Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K race with a time of 25:43.  The men's team combined to earn 311 points to place 12th amongst the 20 teams competing across the three NCAA divisions.  release

Krystal Patton led the women's team with a 22:29 time
GREENSBORO, NC-  The Monarchs competed at the Guilford Invitational on Saturday where junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the men'ns 8K race in 25:38.  The men's team combined to earn 197 points to place eighth in the 11 team event against many NCAA Division I and II opponents.  release

Men's Reserve Team Runs Past Fayetteville State
Freshman Spencer Hensley leads the Monarchs in second place
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The men's cross country reserve team took on Fayetteville State and edged out a 27-28 win in the 5K race.  Fayetteville State runner Ernest Cole won the race in 20:44, but Spencer Hensley came in second with a time of 21:21 for the Monarchs.  release

Cross Country Competes at First Meet of the Season
Husein Nasiro-Sigo finishes 10th with 15:41
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  After practicing every day for the past month, the Methodist cross country team was anxious to compete.  The men and women traveled to the Adidas Raleigh Cross Country Invitational at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC on Friday.  N.C. State won both the men's and women's 5,000 meter run, but the Methodist men placed 5th with 155 points.  release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The USA South Conference office released the preseason polls today for cross country, soccer and volleyball.  The polls are based on votes from each conference member's head coach without voting for themselves.  release

Tim Ryerson takes over as men's and women's cross country head coach
Current men's basketball assistant becomes the first full-time assistant coach in program history
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  Current Methodist men's basketball assistant coach Tim Ryerson has been named the new men's and women's cross country head coach, Athletics Director Bob McEvoy announced Thursday.  Ryerson came to Methodist as the men's basketball assistant in 2005.  He has also served as Interim Sports Information Director for four months this past spring. release
