Monarchs’ Nasiro-Sigo
wins Mason-Dixon Men’s Cross Country Championship
FREDERICKSBURG, N.C. –

Nasiro-Sigo took his first step towards a huge postseason in
cross country on Saturday as he won the men’s individual
championship of the 2005 Mason-Conference Championships at John
L. Pratt Park. It was the third individual victory of the season
for the Methodist sophomore.
Nasiro-Sigo finished with a stellar time of 25:47 in the 8K
event. He edged Southern Virginia’s Jeff White by a tenth of a
second and finished a half a second ahead of Matt Downs from
Mary Washington. The time is the best yet this season for
Nasiro-Sigo.
In addition to Nasiro-Sigo, Ryan Taylor placed 28th in a time of
31:13 for Methodist, while William Helms finished 34th in 35:29
and Mlungisi Ndwandwe finished 35th in 36:53. It was a 43-runner
event.
For the Lady Monarchs, Krystal Patton finished 29th in the 5K
event in 26:03, and Jennifer Patterson finished 37th in 28:41.
Methodist competes next Saturday (Oct. 29) in the USA South
Athletic Conference Championships in Greensboro.
