Monarchs Take on Old North State Championships
Senior Krystal Patton placed 20th out of 84 female competitors

PLEASANT GARDENS, NC - The men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Old North State Championships on Saturday in Pleasant Gardens, NC. The men placed seventh in the 8K race. The women competed in a 6K, but not did score as a team.

Freshman Travis Fulp led the men with a 41st finish in 33:47.2. Freshman A.J. Hester placed 53rd in 36:44.4 and junior Hiroki Usui finished 61st in 38:21.7. Sophomore Chase Pattillo was the fourth Methodist finisher in 39:21.0 placing 64th overall while sophomore Spencer Hensley was right behind him in 39:33.5.

Senior Krystal Patton finished first for the Methodist women running the 6K in 28:20.4 placing 20th overall. Junior Diane Doroftei finished 23rd in 28:26.6 and sophomore Jen Kiner placed 39th in 30:26.5 and freshman Kristy Zeiler was 56th in 33:12.0.

The teams will travel to Celebration, FL Oct. 6 to compete in the Walt Disney Cross Country Classic.
