September 15, 2007 CARY, NC- The men's and women's cross country teams traveled to SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC to compete in the Raleigh Invitational 5K race. The Monarchs competed against Division I, II, and III schools with the men placing 11th in the meet. Senior Husein Nasiro-Sigo led the men with a tenth place finish in 16:25. Freshman Travis Fulp placed 50th in 19:23 and freshman Jay Harris was 61st in 20:39. Sophomore Chase Pattillo finished 62nd in 20:40 and freshman A.J. Hester rounded out the team scoring with a 64th finish in 20:54. Junior Diane Doroftei led the Methodist women finshing 31st in 22:44. Sophomore Jen Kiner placed 49th in 24:40 and freshman Kristy Zeiler was 50th in 24:53. Both teams will compete in the Old North State Championships on Saturday in Pleasant Gardens, NC. |
