October 27, 2007 PLEASANT GARDEN , NC - Methodist senior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the USA South Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship race for the fourth consecutive year. Nasiro-Sigo led the men's team to a fifth place finish at the meet. The women also placed fifth in the conference. Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K race in 26:08.8, just 17 seconds ahead of Christopher Newport's David Woodson. Methodist freshman Travis Fulp placed 32nd in 34:08.4 while sophomore Chase Pattillo finished 35th in 34:33.9. Freshman A.J. Hester ran the race in 36:24.9 to finish 41st and sophomore Spencer Hensley was the fifth scorer for the Monarchs in 36:33.7 in 43rd place. In the women's 6K race, senior Krystal Patton made the All-Meet team with a seventh place finish in 26:40.7. Junior Diane Doroftei finished 11th in 27:55.5 while sophomore Jen Kiner was 31st in 30:37.9. Freshman Kristy Zeiler placed 39th in 31:57.8 while freshman Kaitlyn Flaherty rounded out the Methodist scoring with a 40th place finish in 32:13.0.
