Men's Cross Country Places Second at USA South Championships
Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K race with a time of 26:57

GREENSBORO, NC-  The USA South Conference Championship meet was held at Hagan-Stone Park in Greensboro, NC on Saturday.  The Methodist men's team placed second overall while the women placed sixth.  Junior Husein Nasiro-Sigo won the 8K in a time of 26:57.

Freshman Zach Yonk placed 13th with a time of 30:18, Adam Clouse placed 17th in 32:02, freshman Chase Pattillo placed 24th in 35:12, and freshman Spencer Hensley placed 25th with a time of 35:35.  Christopher Newport won the men's race with 25 points; the Monarchs finished 6 points ahead of Greensboro with 60.

In the women's 6K race junior Krystal Patton broke into the top 10 for the first time in her career, placing seventh in a time of 27:35 while freshman Jen Kiner palced 30th with a time of 32:11.  Senior Heather McDaniel came in 32nd place in 32:16 and junior Tia Imel placed 33rd in 32:31.  Sophomore Jen Crews placed 54th with a time of 41:31.

Nasiro-Sigo and Patton will both compete at the South/Southeast Regional Championship meet at Century Center Park hosted by Emory University on November 11th.
