Methodist cross
country teams compete in Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic
ORLANDO, Fla. – Both the
Methodist men’s and women’s cross country teams got a taste of
the Magic Kingdom on Saturday, competing in the Walt Disney
World Cross Country Classic at Disney’s Wide World of Sports.
The Monarch men finished the Men’s University Race in 30th out
of 40 teams, while the Lady Monarchs didn’t place a team score.
For the Monarhs, Ryan Taylor was the top Methodist finisher in
the 8K event, placing 165th in a time of 32:16 minutes. Tim
McArthur finished 168th in 34:25, while PatrickThornhill placed
187th in 37:07. In addition, Will Helms finished 191st in 37:07,
followed by Adonis Stanley in 194th in 38:07 and Mlungisi
Ndwandwe finished 195th in 41:35.
For the Lady Monarchs, Krystal Patton finished 230th in 23:50
for the 5K event, followed by Jennifer Patterson at 285th in
28:52 as the top two finishers for Methodist.
Methodist’s next meet is the North State Collegiate
Championships on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Pleasanton, N.C.
