Hill, Bradley, Anderson, and Keane Honored as USA South Athletes of the Week
Each athlete chosen for the first time this season

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-
The USA South has announced their athletes of the week for all fall sports.  The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week.

Mike Hill, a junior from Angier, NC has been selected as the USA South Football Offensive Player of the Week.  Hill had 30 carries for 187 yards in the win against Ferrum on Saturday.  Hill became only the second player in Monarch history to surpass 2,000 career yards rushing on his 68-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.  The football team will travel to Christopher Newport this Saturday to play at 1 pm.

Women's soccer player Chrystal Bradley earned Athlete of the Week honors after scoring a hat trick in each of the last two games against North Carolina Wesleyan and Bluefield.  A native of Fairfax, VA, Bradley added 3 assists to give her 15 points during the week.  Bradley leads the team in scoring with 20 goals and 7 assists in just 13 games.

Michelle Anderson from Waldorf, MD was chosen as the USA South Rookie of the Week for the first time this season.  The freshman scored a goal against NC Wesleyan on Wednesday and then rattled off four more on Saturday against Bluefield to tie the program record.  Anderson has 8 goals and an assist this season.  The women will play host to Mary Baldwin on Tuesday at 3 pm.

Junior Desmond Keane helped to lead the men's soccer team to a 2-0-1 record this week with a double overtime tie against nationally ranked NC Wesleyan, a 3-0 win against St. Mary's and a 1-0 victory over Shenandoah.  A defender from St. Petersburg, FL, Keane scored both goals against NC Wesleyan to send the game into overtime and tarnish the Bishops 12 game winning streak.  The Monarchs stand at 12-2-1 overall and will travel to Randolph-Macon on Thursday.
