Monarchs’ Hill selected USA South Football Offensive Player of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The USA South Athletic Conference released its second weekly honors for football on Monday, and Methodist’s Mike Hill was selected as the USA South Offensive Player of the Week. Hill becomes the first Monarch to receive a weekly football honor from the conference this season.

A sophomore tailback from Lillington, N.C., Hill enjoyed his best game yet in a Methodist uniform on Saturday against Guilford. He rushed for a career-high 181 yards on 21 carries and scored on touchdown runs of 40 and 59 yards.

For the season, Hill has rushed for 253 yards on 36 carries with four touchdowns. He’s currently averaging seven yards a carry. He leads the USA South in rushing yards and is tied for first in both points scored and touchdowns scored.

Methodist is off this week, and then plays its home opener on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. against North Carolina Wesleyan.
