Bascom Named USA South Rookie of the Week
Freshman averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in last two games
 

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The USA South Athletic Conference announced their Athletes of the Week Tuesday afternoon for contests played from December 18 through January 1.  Adrian Bascom, a freshman forward on the Methodist men's basketball team, has been named the Rookie of the Week based on his efforts.

 

A native of Wilmington, NC, Bascom helped his team to a 1-1 record over the break with a championship win against Gettysburg at the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off Tournament and a double overtime loss to Guilford.  Against Gettysburg, Bascom scored 13 points with a team-high 7 rebounds in addition to three steals.  In Saturday's loss to Guilford, he added 16 points shooting 4-for-9 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from behind the free throw line.

 

The Monarchs will host Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday at 3 pm.
