Bascom Named USA South Rookie of the Week
Freshman averaged 17.5 points, 7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in last two games
 

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The USA South Athletic Conference announced their Athletes of the Week Monday afternoon for contests played this past week.  Adrian Bascom, a freshman guard on the Methodist men's basketball team, has been named the Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

 

Originally from Wilmington, North Carolina, Bascom had a productive week despite the Monarchs falling in both of their games. He averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game in the two defeats. In a 61-58 loss at USA South rival Averett, Bascom nearly tallied a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. He also contributed a team-high four assists and one steal in the game. In a 78-65 loss to Maryville, Bascom scored 18 points while adding five rebounds, three assists and one steal.

 

The Monarchs travel to NC Wesleyan Monday night before hosting Christopher Newport and Shenandoah this weekend.
