Smith Honored as USA South Rookie of the Week
Methodist student-athletes receive weekly conference honors

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The USA South has announced their athletes of the week. The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week.

LeuMichael Smith has been selected as the USA South Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. The Clarkston, North Carolina freshman guard led the Monarchs in scoring as they fell, 88-75, at Maryville in their only action last week. Smith scored a team-high 13 points with three assists, three steals and two rebounds. Smith was also 9-of-11 from the free-throw line in the loss.

The men's basketball team will compete in the Piedmont Tournament Dec. 29-30.
